Rub with the slice of
lemon: Rub the slice of lemon on the edges of the nails for about five to
eight minutes and rinse with water. Do it daily for better results. This makes your
nails pinkish and even soft.
Keep your nails
clean: This prevents bacteria, fungi and other microorganisms from growing
under your fingernails and therefore looks neatly.
Manicure on regular
basis: Manicuring the nails on the regular basis help in making them strong
and also stimulates faster growth and removes dead skin. It results healthy and
beautiful nails. This will definitely help in making your nails appear stronger

Apply Lavender oil or
cuticle oil or tea tree oil: use oil to moisturize and apply a protective
clear coat day by day to prevent cracking, peeling.
Soak in Orange juice: Soak your fingers in an orange juice
for seven to ten minutes and then rinse off with the water. Orange juice
consists of Vitamin C and folic acid, which facilitates the nail growth.
Protect nails:
Try to wear cotton-lined rubber gloves when washing dishes or clothes, or using
harsh chemicals.
Trim and file your
fingernails: Use a sharp manicure scissors or clippers to trim your nails
straight across, then round the tips in a gentle curve. It might be easiest way
to trim and file your fingernails after bathing or soaking fingernails in the
lukewarm water.
Use moisturizer:
Whenever you are using hand lotion, massage the lotion into your fingernails
and cuticles, too. Dry nails can crack, peel, and become brittle.
Don’t damage: To
prevent nail damage, don't use your fingernails as tools to pick, poke or pry
things.
Don’t bite your
fingernails: Don't even try to bite them. These habits can damage the
fingernail and can allow bacteria or fungi to enter and cause an infection.
Wear the right size:
If your toes hit the front of your shoe, nails can crack or turn black-and-blue,
and can also lead to pain, swelling, infection.
Drink lots of water:
It will be helping your cuticles and fingernails hydrated. Fingernails absorb
water 100 times faster than skin, so they lose water just as fast. Dehydrated
uticles not only look ragged but also can turn into painful and infected hangnails.
Keep them free: If
you wear nail polish a lot, it doesn't allow for your nails to breathe. So, get
rid of the nail polish for two to three days a week.
Diet for healthy
nails:
- Take the diet that are rich in protein and vitamins that strengthen nails.
- Consumption of vitamin A and calcium helps in preventing dryness and brittleness.
- Consumption of protein, folic acid and vitamin avoids hang nails and white bands across the nails.
- Sufficient hydrochloric acid helps the nails from splitting.
- Sufficient intake of vitamin B12 helps to prevent from dryness, very rounded and curved ends and darkening of nails.
- Due to poor metabolism of essential fatty acids, skin becomes red around your cuticles.
- Zinc prevents the development of white spots on the nails.
